Message From Executive Director

Gerd WuestemannDear Friends,

What an incredibly exciting time this is for the Acadiana Center for the Arts. The AcA has always been an organization with a clear focus on service to our artists, our children and to the community. With the completion of the theater we have entered into another lifecycle: a Center of service, a Center of programming and a world-class facility. We remain dedicated to our service mission, to grant making and arts education.

A facility – no matter how beautiful – only serves a purpose if it is teeming with life. It is central to our vision that the completed AcA will serve as a cultural hub, an arts-based community center to the entire region, filled with classes, performances, workshops, exhibitions - filled with creative people of all ages. The state-of-the-art theater will feature 300 seats in a completely modular configuration as well as adjustable acoustics to accommodate everything from Jazz to Dance, Theater to Zydeco, Chamber Music to Film Festivals. Broadcast ready and equipped with a sophisticated sound system and ‘silent’ air-conditioning, this venue will provide Acadiana with a platform to bring Grammy-winning local music to the world.

I’d like to invite you to see us at the Center, bring your kids to our programs and become a member. Your ongoing support is absolutely crucial in helping us to achieve our goals. You have an opportunity to grow with us right now, to help make this a better place to live and raise a family. Without you, we could not be at the Center of Art & Culture in Acadiana and this community would be poorer for it.

Sincerely,

Dr. Gerd Wuestemann
