Phase II - Completing An Ambitious Architectural Project

An important step forward for the performing arts in Acadiana

Excitement is mounting as completion of the theater is nearing completion. The attention to acoustical detail is phenomenal: from the sophisticated silent A/C system with its giant units and ducts, to the acoustical joints, where theater walls do not touch the rest of the building to reduce any vibration and sound transmission the designers have gone to great lengths to insure a studio-silent theater, a perfect space for any style of music, theater or dance and a great venue to record in and broadcast from. The modular nature of the venue is now becoming visible, with seating pit, cantilevered balconies and exposed catwalks throughout the room. There will definitely not be a bad seat in this house!

Currently AcA officals and staff are gearing up for a 60-day countdown doing 'tune-up' shows where the modular features of the room and acoustics are tested. We're hopeful to open doors for our first season of performances sometime in early November 2010.
