Functional Sculpture

EXHIBIT DESCRIPTION:

Decorative but functional wheel-thrown earthenware vessels called "Functional Sculpture.”

Pieces are thrown in separate sections, appliquéd, carved and assembled.

ARTIST BIO:

"My name is Terri Kennedy, I live and work from my studio which is my home in

Denham Springs, Louisiana. I have worked in clay full-time for approximately 20

years, but my love for clay and sculpting goes back to when I was a child. I would

use leftover pie-crust clippings and form the pieces into flowers and animals.

Though experimentation and classes from all over the nation, I've turned my love

of molding things with clay into a life long and loving endeavor, to make pottery for

everyday life.”

ARTIST STATEMENT:

"My work is mainly decorative but functional wheel-thrown earthenware vessels I call

'Functional Sculpture.' Pieces are thrown in separate sections, appliquéd, carved

and assembled."
