The
Acadiana Center for the Arts Creativity @ the Center is a series of
hands-on workshops for young people, families and adults built upon our
award-winning core programs. Creativity @ the Center offers students and
adults of all ages opportunities to study traditional arts disciplines
under the guidance of professional artists, educators and guest
lecturers.

2012/2013 Acting
Classes
Acting Up (in Acadiana)
announces that its classes begin the week of September 10, 2012. Acting classes
are available for students ages 7-adult. Individual acting coaching can be
arranged. All activities take place at the Acadiana Center for the Arts located
in downtown Lafayette.
All students, regardless of
future work, can build confidence in public speaking, practice
collaborative and group
working skills, nurture the imagination and creativity, and just
have fun! The following classes are offered:
- Elementary
Class held on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 PM
- Junior
High School Class held on Mondays from
4:30-6 PM
- High
School and Beginner Adults Class held on Tuesdays from 6-7:30PM
- Company
Class held on Mondays from 6:15-7:45; Participation in continued company
training is by audition & interview, or invitation.
Registration fee is $85 and
monthly tuition is $60. Company class
has small one time annual dues and strict guidelines for maintaining active
member status. Options for paying the year in full and sibling discounts are
available.
As Acting Up (in Acadiana)’s
Artistic Director, Amy Waguespack facilitates the classes. Waguespack and
members of the professional company teach all classes. We are a training based
program with a focus on technique and ensemble building. Waguespack, company
members and former students have worked in theatre, film, television, and
commercials in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and more.
