SUMMARY:Cathy Mills & Arthur McViccar: Nature, Two Visions
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Artists Mills and McViccar present two views on nature. Mills offers up a feminine perspective through a flight of fantasy, while McViccar’s work is rooted in an earthy, masculine force of nature.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About the Artists\nCathy Mills ( https://cathymills.artstorefronts.com/ ) is a Lafayette artist who has worked with watercolors, acrylics, printmaking, ceramics, fabrics, and more. Today her focus is painting and ceramics. Her subject matter reflects her love of the magic of birds and their environment rendered in a playful way. Other subjects sneak in and can’t be neglected. Her hope is that her work will bring a sense of well being to all who see it.\nArthur McViccar ( http://www.arthurmcviccar.com ) began working with wood many years ago, training to design scenery for the theatre.  A divergent path here, a turn there, and now a visual artist who creates both walling hangings and 3D freestanding sculptures.  His reverence for natural materials is reflected in his work.\n \nImages\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n @media only screen and (min-width: 981px){ .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_title, .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_image{max-width:83.5%;margin-left:auto!important;margin-right:auto!important;} .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_image img{width:100%;} }@media only screen and (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 980px){ .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_title, .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_image{max-width:83.5%;margin-left:auto!important;margin-right:auto!important;} .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_image img{width:100%;} }@media only screen and (max-width: 767px){ .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_title, .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_image{max-width:83.5%;margin-left:auto!important;margin-right:auto!important;} .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_image img{width:100%;} }@media only screen and (min-width: 981px){ .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item{margin-bottom:5.5%!important;} }@media only screen and (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 980px){ .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item{margin-bottom:5.5%!important;} }@media only screen and (max-width: 767px){ .et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item{margin-bottom:5.5%!important;} }.et_pb_gallery_1 .et_pb_gallery_item.et_pb_grid_item .et_pb_gallery_image img { object-fit: initial !important; }\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Follow AcA for Photos and Stories\n \n \n \n \n \n Hours and Admissions\nSuggested donation of $5/person visiting AcA’s galleries.Daytime Hours: Public gallery hours are 9am-5pm Tuesday through Saturday.\nEvening Hours: This exhibition is on view during evenings of select AcA events.\nField Trips and Group Tours: AcA accommodates groups and field trips, offering private tours and interactive art making activities to compliment the experience. Contact us ( https://acadianacenterforthearts.org/contact/ ) for more information and pricing.\nWhy a suggested donation, you ask?\nYour donation helps bring art from around the world to our community AND supports local artists who exhibit in AcA’s galleries. Since our founding in 1975 and since this building opened in 2004, AcA has showcased thousands of artists. This space has become a hub for artists and art-loving audiences right here in Acadiana. Your dollars help make both of those things happen!\nInterested in doing more? \nConsider becoming a member at the level that suits your budget and interests best. Whether it’s the President’s Circle, Young Insiders, Family Membership (or any one of our many levels of support), there’s something that fits your budget and can let you express how much a strong cultural life in Acadiana means to you. Ask how to become a member at the front desk.\nThank you for helping bring great art to our community!\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n
