DESCRIPTION:Join AcA’s Visual Arts Director, Jaik Faulk, in conversation with exhibiting artist, Roz LeCompte.\nRÊVERIE is an exhibition of mixed media paintings, objects and sculpture which explore southern identity in radical and playful ways on display in the Side Gallery from September 14 – October 26, 2024.\nTea and cookies will be served.\nABOUT THE ARTIST\nRozalyn LeCompte was born and raised by musicians in Acadiana and has created art since she could hold a crayon. She has been a full-time artist since retiring from the Healing Arts profession in 2017.\nRoz has recently transitioned from creating and running a musical accessory brand back to her first love of painting. She is self-taught and has explored many mediums including recycled sculpture, poetry, and mixed media collage. She has journeyed from abstract to a chaotic whimsical folk art style that allows her to filter her life experiences onto the wood canvases that she builds.\n
