DESCRIPTION:Louisiana Grass Roots, a short documentary about our forgotten prairie.\nJoin the makers and supporters of the new documentary film Louisiana Grass Roots as they unveil their work in the James Devin Moncus Theater at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.\nThe documentary has been filmed in Acadiana over the last 2 years with an all local crew and featuring local scientists and culture bearers. The team received the Louisiana Project Grant in 2023 and 2024 to support both the film and a traveling exhibit about the prairie, attendee’s will be able to experience these two elements of the project on the preview night.\nRUN OF SHOW:  \n\n5:30pm: Doors\n6pm: tour of Hidden in Plain Sight traveling exhibit about the prairie\n6:30pm: Louisiana Grass Roots screening\n7pm: Q&A with filmmakers, restoration scientists, and other people featured in the film\n\n \nFILM SYNOPSIS & CREDITS: \nThe coastal prairie is an imperiled ecosystem in our backyards here in Southwest Louisiana. Louisiana Grass Roots tells the story of our forgotten prairie lands and the people working to save them.
