DESCRIPTION:Dark Wave / Light Room, AcA’s fall main gallery exhibition features a select group of artists from the region who’ve created artworks that utilize a limited monochrome color palette in order to open up the many possibilities available in formal design. These artists have chosen to limit the use of color in their works in order to amplify the effects of line, form, texture, tonal shifts and other design elements to arrive at new realizations within their body of work. This self-made limitation yields an unexpected richness to both viewer and maker.\nThis exhibition showcases a variety of artistic mediums including photography, drawing, and painting. Visitors will encounter sculptures in bronze and wood as well as collage and other modes of making.\nFeatured Artists:\nKristie Cornell\nFred Daspit\nMarianne Desmarais\nMarla Kristicevich\nEugene James Martin\nJesse Poimboeuf\nScot Sinclair\nViewers will experience artworks which hone in on the subtle interaction of monochrome and texture, through abstraction these artists explore line and form. AcA is proud to host a showing that displays the depth of artistic expertise which thrives in this visual arts community today.\n \n\n
