Join Destin Ortego (Opportunity Machine) for this workshop that explores what makes content go viral, how you can prepare yourself to monetize viral content before going viral, and next steps to take if your content does go viral.
Destin serves as Executive Director for the Opportunity Machine which currently serves more than 100 startups and small businesses each year, supporting them from the idea stage to maturity, and hosts several entrepreneurial events such as Innovate South. He earned his bachelor’s degree in visual arts, with a concentration in graphic design, and his master’s degree, with a concentration in public relations, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Over the course of his career, he has created and hosted charitable events supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Acadiana, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
He is a recipient of The Daily Advertiser’s Top 20 Under 40 award, one of Silicon Bayou’s 100 most influential people in Louisiana’s startup scene, and was named the Richard Baudoin Jr. “Friend of Business” for the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame.
He currently serves as the Board Chair for Junior Achievement of Acadiana, a board member for Festival International and the Academy of Information Technology, and an advisor for the Academy of Interactive Entertainment Advisory Committee.
