About

The Ella Project will present a full day workshop for small to midsize cultural nonprofits in partnership with the Acadiana Center for the Arts.

Along with the workshop, Ella Project will make their one on one legal services available to attendees, and will waive the organizational application fee.

Organizations are encouraged to invite staff and board members to attend.

Topics
Board Development and Best Practices
Presented by Gene Meneray of The Ella Project, this section will address board recruitment, roles of staff and board, and best practices for board relationships.

Bylaws and Compliance
Presented by Ashlye Keaton of The Ella Project, this section will discuss how to create/update optimal bylaws, the compliance regulations for nonprofits, and how to ensure nonprofits are running an effective, transparent organization.

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship
Presented by Melanie Merz, Stewardship and Audience Engagement, WWOZ. Melanie will offer strategies and advice based on her work stewarding individual donors and corporate support for WWOZ, a leading non-commercial radio station.

Social Media for Nonprofits
Presented by Katie Odell, Gallery Director of the Louisiana Crafts Guild and former Social Media Manager for the National World War 2 Museum, this section focuses on attracting followers, engaging your audience, promoting events, and using social media for fundraising.

Wrap Up and Q&A
A final opportunity for attendees to engage the presenters, sign up for Ella Project legal clinics, and network.
