Margaret Simon & Marla Kristicevich
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2018
For teachers of grades 3–8 Acadiana Center for the Arts Teachers will explore a variety of poetic and artistic elements that can be found and utilized in all types of writing, such as metaphor, imagery, alliteration and personification. The poetry forms presented in Margaret Simon’s book Bayou Song offer teachers a way to explore writing poetry on a chosen topic and from a unique perspective. Using visual imagery, collage and elements of art, teachers will create an abstract work of art influenced by their poetry.
