Sickbay presents A Two-Night Showcase of Non-Traditional Music in South Louisiana

Hosted by Ryan DeJean
While known primarily for our major musical exports Cajun, Zydeco, Brass, Blues and Jazz, Louisiana is a hotspot for wildly creative new music. In most cases, one has to seek it out in clubs late at night, which has meant that the underground music scene remains out of reach for most audiences, but Lafayette native Ryan DeJean, with his production company Sickbay, has been curating shows featuring these artists in downtown Lafayette since 2014. Connecting, supporting and celebrating the alternative creative community of South Louisiana, Sickbay has extended its reach to actively producing events as well as recordings with artists and venues across the region. They represent the efforts of an ever-expanding and diverse network of individuals who are committed to making Lafayette a place where we all feel at home. For Louisiana Crossroads, Sickbay presents a unique two-night showcase of some of the most accomplished non-traditional musicians from the region.

Acadiana Center for the Arts

Acadiana Center for the Arts (AcA) is a publicly supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are the central cultural hub of Acadiana, an eight-parish region comprised of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion Parishes. From our origins as an arts council established in 1975, we have transformed into one of the largest arts organizations in Louisiana. AcA’s public facility is in the heart of downtown Lafayette featuring an intimate theater, large museum-quality galleries, as well as workshop, rehearsal, and office spaces.
