Wayne Toups & Royal BluGarou Unplugs ZydeCajun

With Emcee Dr. Barry Ancelet

In the South, Wayne Toups is a Cajun rockstar, a legend. He has created and performed his own genre of music since the 80s and while often imitated, his unique ZydeCajun sound is recognizable at once. This new project, Royal BluGarou, is a step in a new direction for Wayne- he’s “unplugging,” if you will. Joined by ZydeCajun members Freddie Pate, Steve Grisaffe and Mike Burch, with special guests Wil McFarlane (resonator guitar) and more, and emceed by Dr. Barry Jean Ancelet, this show kicks off our season with what Louisiana Crossroads does best- it gives the audience a chance to get to know the legend through songs and stories, to learn what makes the musician tick, where he comes from, and where he’s going.
