Opportunities for Educators
Professional Learning for Educators
Professional Learning for Educators expand teachers’ understanding of the visual and performing arts and help to reinforce classroom curricula.
Arts Grants for Teachers
The Arts Grants for Teachers program is funded by the Lafayette Parish School System and coordinated by Acadiana Center for the Arts.
Virtual Art Studio
AcA’s Virtual Art Studio is an online program designed to expand arts-in-education opportunities directly into homes.
It is based on AcA’s successful PACE Online Art Classes which replaced in-school art classes during the COVID-19 pandemic from March 2020–May 2021.
Experienced teaching artists lead these fun and informative classes for children at home, regardless of school or location.
Tune in every Monday through the school year for a new episode of Virtual Art Studio!
Poetry Out Loud
Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life.
Play It Again
Play It Again is an instrument-recycling program that was created to give the gift of music to students in Acadiana. With generous support from Lafayette Music, AcA is able to collect old instruments that are no longer being used and repair them so they can be gifted to band programs in Acadiana public schools. The revival of donated instruments gives the gift of music to worthy students that might otherwise be denied the opportunity to participate in music education.
If you’re interested in donating an instrument, you can bring them to Acadiana Center for the Arts or Lafayette Music.
