Jesse Poimboeuf: Winging It

An exhibition of artworks spanning decades from a veteran painter and performance artist living and working in Cecilia, Louisiana.

About the Artist:

Jesse Poimboeuf is a New Orleans born painter, mixed media, and performance artist. He has lived and worked in New Orleans, Denver, Cincinnati, Lafayette, and New York and currently resides in the country between Arnaudville and Cecilia, on the banks of the Bayou Teche. Poimboeuf received his BFA in 1969 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and his MFA from Tulane University in 1972.

2024 is his 53rd year of exhibiting his work in galleries and art spaces, participating in many juried competitions nationwide at alternative spaces, museums, and festivals since 1967. He was also featured in New Music America performing a collaborative piece, “Music from Nancy”, at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC.

Poimboeuf has collaborated with his good friend, artist Alan Gerson, for the last 17 years on a series of over 200 paintings titled “Ruining Paper”. Currently, he is working with Brian Kelly at ULL Marais Press producing a multicolor lithograph that is still in process.
