Poetry Out Loud’s Emcee – Christian Mouisset

Christian Mouisset is a teacher and theatre artist native to Lafayette, Louisiana. He earned his BFA in performance in 2018 from UL Lafayette and his MFA in the same from Florida Atlantic University in 2020. As an actor, in 2016, his first professional work was the world premiere of JAMBALAYA! The Musical at the Heymann Center. Since then, Christian has worked for numerous companies around the South and Midwest, such as Canterbury Summer Theatre (IN), Arkansas Shakespeare, and Theatre Lab (FL). Christian was also part of another world premiere, Everything is Super Great (2019) in conjunction with Theatre Lab. He has also been commissioned by both the Hilliard Arts Museum and the College of the Arts at UL to create original performance pieces.

As a teacher, Christian has been an adjunct professor in the UL Performing Arts department since 2021. He was also one of the lead acting teachers and directors at Wonderland Performing Arts from 2021-2024. His educational directing credits include STUPID BIRD (UL, 2021), Beauty and the Beast (Wonderland, 2022) and Alice in Wonderland (Wonderland, 2024). He has also been a part of the AcA’s roster of teaching artists since 2022, and has done workshops at multiple middle and high schools around the area through the AcA’s TAP program.

Christian would like to thank his cats for their continued lack of support for his many endeavors.
