LAFAYETTE, LA – The Acadiana Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a new event, The Sunny Side Jazz Brunch, a benefit for the arts in the Acadiana region at the home of Kip and Carolyn Schumacher.
The Sunny Side Jazz Brunch calls to the experiences of legendary Creole Jazz brunches at Commander’s Palace and Brennan’s and features a performance of classic New Orleans tunes by accomplished bass-baritone André Courville.
A Louisiana native, Courville is the recipient of top awards in eight national and international vocal competitions, including First Prize in Los Angeles’s Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition and Top Prize in New York’s Gerda Lissner Foundation International Vocal Competition.
Attendees will enjoy brunch fare from award-winning Chef Jeremy Conner alongside New Orleans-inspired drinks. The event also features a live auction with art-filled and adventurous experiences available for bidding, led by guest auctioneer Senator Fred Mills.
AcA Executive Director said, “This event brings together the Acadiana community and the arts that make our region so vibrant and culturally rich.”
Tickets are available online through AcA’s website at https://acadianacenterforthearts.org/events/the-sunny-side-jazz-brunch and through calling the AcA box office at 337-233-7060.
All funds raised from the Sunny Side Jazz Brunch will support the AcA’s performing arts programs, offering national acts of music, dance, and theater in Lafayette, as well as the expansion of AcA’s Arts in Education work into new schools and parishes around the rural regions of Acadiana.
AcA currently presents more than 30 major original productions each year in the James Devin Moncus Theater in Downtown Lafayette and brings dynamic and engaging arts experiences to more than 25,000 school aged youth in Acadiana each year at no cost to the students.
