Sam Wróbel is a papercutting artist based in SW Louisiana, specializing in the Polish folk art of wycinanki. Sam grew up in the Chicago area, where they learned wycinanki from artist Doris Sikorsky. Together they received two Master/Apprentice grants in Ethnic Art from the Illinois Arts Council.
As an adult, Sam spent 10 years as a commercial chalkboard and sign artist for Trader Joe’s, and also did freelance illustration, painting, and design. Sam moved to Louisiana in 2017 and started Sparrow Papercraft in 2018 to share and promote their papercutting work. www.sparrowpapercraft.com
