Summer Bolden: AfroFuture
Summer Bolden’s paintings reference themes of “Afrofuturism” a genre defined by forward thinking creators like jazz musician Sun Ra and Herbie Hancock. Curator Ingrid LaFleur defines Afrofuturism as “a way of imagining possible futures through a black cultural lens.” These works are being showcased in the MoreArt Gallery at the Bottle Art Lofts they are also showcased as part of AcA’s ArtBox project displayed in the La Place neighborhood at Cameron and Pierce.
