Level up your arts career

Take your creative career to the next level with this free professional development program brought to you by Arts Career Incubator. This program is designed for artists of all disciplines (visual artists, musicians, writers, dance and theater artists, etc).

Throughout this half-week intensive, you will:

  • Draft a strategic plan for your arts practice or business, including short and long term goals informed by your vision and priorities
  • Receive arts-specific business training from industry experts
  • Join an interdisciplinary cohort rooted in the 8 Acadiana Parish Region of Louisiana’s creative community

This Program Features

Workshops & Panel Discussions

Participate in professional training specific to the arts industry. Topics include: Strategic Planning, Artist Statements and Bios, Cultivating Arts Opportunities, Fundraising, and Marketing. Sessions are a dynamic mix of interactive workshops, lectures, and panel discussions.

Personalized Mentorship

Connect with a peer mentor for personalized, one-on-one support. Artists will meet their mentor over 3 dedicated sessions. Pairs will be introduced at a Saturday evening happy hour, followed by a second one-on-one meeting on Sunday. The third, final meeting will take place after the program to build momentum.

An Artist Community

Join an interdisciplinary cohort of artists working in the community across creative disciplines. Engage in peer discussion and brainstorming sessions, learn about each others’ practices, and opt into opportunities to stay in touch after the program.

Arts Industry Professionals

Get introduced to arts industry professionals locally and nationally who can support your practice and provide insights into the field. Guest speakers and presenters will include gallerists, artistic directors, publishers, marketing experts, and arts managers.

The program will be held in person at Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette, Louisiana.

 

Program Dates

This is a half week in person program, to be held September 10 – 13:
• Thursday, September 10, 5pm – 8pm CT
• Friday, September 11, 10am – 4pm CT (with happy hour to follow from 4:30 – 6:00pm CT)
• Saturday, September 12, 10am – 4pm CT
• Sunday, September 13, 10am – 4pm CT

Artists are expected to attend all dates and times. Please check your
