Gulf Brew – Acadiana Center for the Arts’ Biggest Fundraiser on Saturday, October 21, partners with Ragin Cajun Athletics

LAFAYETTE, LA – Acadiana Center for the Arts hosts Gulf Brew, presented by Moss BMW, Louisiana’s oldest craft beer festival! Gulf Brew is an outdoor festival along the streets of Downtown Lafayette on Saturday, October 21, 2023, 1-5pm.

AcA is working closely with Ragin Cajun Athletics to provide a free, continuous shuttle from UL’s Homecoming tailgate to Gulf Brew to offer the “ultimate tailgate experience” for visitors to both events.

Sam Oliver, AcA Executive Director says, “This is the ultimate homecoming tailgate experience. We hope this gives people from Lafayette, Acadiana, and beyond an unbeatable reason to visit Lafayette on October 21. AcA is thrilled to be able to partner with UL Athletics and the UL Alumni Association to provide this experience for football fans and Gulf Brew attendees alike.”

Dr. Bryan Maggard, UL Lafayette Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, says, “We are excited to provide community members the opportunity to experience both our Homecoming Game and the Gulf Brew Festival. Game Day in Lafayette is unlike any other, and this chance for people to experience both events is a great way to showcase Our Town and Our Team – Come for the party, stay for the football.”

Gulf Brew 2022 was a record breaking year welcoming over 5,000 attendees to Downtown Lafayette. Ticket holders will enjoy sampling more than 200 beers from craft breweries across the county. The event is one of the few occasions where all of Louisiana’s craft breweries and brewpubs showcase their newest beers in one place.

The event features beer tap trucks, music stages, and crafts booths scattered along the route, with the main stage located in front of the Acadiana Center for the Arts.

Taking place during Gulf Brew is the coronation of “King & Queen of the Brew,” two community leaders who have triumphed in a fundraising competition in support of AcA’s work in bringing art, theater, and dance education into more than 85 public schools across Acadiana.

In 2022, the King & Queen of the Brew raised more than $30,000 for AcA’s Arts in Education mission. We’re hoping to exceed that amount in this year’s competition.
