Louisiana Grass Roots: A Short Documentary About Our Forgotten Prairie

Louisiana Grass Roots, a short documentary about our forgotten prairie. Join the makers and supporters of the new documentary film Louisiana Grass Roots as they unveil their work in the James Devin Moncus Theater at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. The documentary has been filmed in Acadiana over the last 2 years with an all local crew and featuring local scientists and culture bearers. The team received the Louisiana Project Grant in 2023 and 2024 to support both the film and a traveling exhibit about the prairie, attendee’s will be able to experience these two elements of the project on the preview night. RUN OF SHOW:   5:30pm: Doors 6pm: tour of Hidden in Plain Sight traveling exhibit about the prairie 6:30pm: Louisiana Grass Roots screening 7pm: Q&A with filmmakers, restoration scientists, and other people featured in the film   FILM SYNOPSIS & CREDITS:  The coastal prairie is an imperiled ecosystem in our backyards here in Southwest Louisiana.
