Dry Bones Premiere
Kickoff to Festivals Acadiens et Créoles
Presented by Center for Louisiana Studies + Roots of Fire
Join the Center for Louisiana Studies and Roots of Fire for the premiere of Dry Bones, a new multimedia series that brings contemporary Louisiana musicians into conversation with archival recordings housed at the Center for Louisiana Studies.
The series invites artists to listen to songs from the archive, respond to them, and reimagine them in new performances. The result is a moving, often surprising look at how Louisiana’s musical past continues to live in the present.
This special premiere event, presented as part of Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, will be the only opportunity to see the full Dry Bones series screened together in one setting before episodes are released individually over the course of the fall.
The day will include an afternoon session and an early evening session, with screenings of all episodes, conversations with filmmakers and artists, and special live performances connected to the series.
