Grant Writing Intensive: Putting Your Best Foot Forward with Funders | Part 3

This three-part workshop, led by filmmaker Tracie Holder, is open to artists working across all disciplines who have a project in development and are planning to submit to ArtSpark or generally starting the grant application process. Over three weeks, you will gain confidence in your fundraising and proposal writing abilities and develop a solid road map to begin the process. We’ll review the specific components of a proposal, how to convey ideas visually, and strike a balance between the big broad brushstroke ideas and small details that make your project come alive on the page. We’ll also cover the most common mistakes made when writing grant fundraising proposals and how to avoid them. A central goal of the workshop is to gain an understanding of how to incorporate fundraising and proposal writing into your artistic practice so that it becomes an organic step in moving your current and future projects forward.
Throughout the series, artists will work on their initial draft proposal. In-between these sessions, participants will meet using an online forum to share their work and provide feedback to one another. By the end of the workshop, you should come away with a comprehensive framework for proposal writing as well as an initial draft proposal and more confidence and direction to move forward.
If you have a draft proposal please bring it. If not, please come with a project in mind that you’d like to develop and work on during the workshop.
AcA will provide access to BaseCamp where participants will be able to communicate amongst themselves, with the facilitator and with AcA Staff.
This is an asynchronous and hybrid session. We’d love to see you in-person at this workshop but if you can’t join us IRL please join us via zoom (details will be provided upon registration). This session will also be recorded for those who are unable to attend at the scheduled time and a link to the recording will be sent to all registered participants.
