Hagit Barkai Exhibit Opening
This project uses visual art and community engagement to explore what keeps us disconnected from suffering, conflict, and the potential for healing and peace. It brings together artists, students, scholars, and community leader—both local and from out of state—alongside the Lafayette community and its surrounding areas.
The project runs from late May 2025 to April 2026. It includes a two-month solo exhibition of Barkai’s paintings at NUNU in March and April 2026, accompanied by group exhibitions featuring local artists, UL Students and Alumni, an art symposium with local, national and international participants, and programming roundtable community conversations leading up to and during the exhibitions.
March 1 to April 30: Exhibition opens, including an opening reception, symposium, and roundtable conversations.
