Summer Insiders’ Salon: The Importance of Being Nowhere

In the tradition of 18th century French salon gatherings, AcA will be transformed into a site for creative inspiration, live music and the exchange of ideas. We invite you to come and enjoy the art and conversation.

The Importance of Being Nowhere
Wednesday, June 15, 2026 | 7:00 –9:00 PM
Acadiana Center for the Arts | Main Gallery

This exclusive gathering brings together AcA Insiders and President’s Circle members for a private after-hours celebration of the arts.

Curated by Amy Mackie, The Importance of Being Nowhere invites Louisiana artists to explore the idea of the point of life. What if the point is to be untethered, to be without direction or reason? Can we imagine another way of being, another way to feel free?

This exhibition is made possible by support from a Three-Year Programming Grant by Teiger Foundation (through 2028).
