Ceramics Now: Contemporary and Traditional Practices in Acadiana

This exhibition will look at the scope of ceramics being created in Acadiana today. From the functional and traditional forms we are familiar with, to the purely visual and Avant-garde. Acadiana Center for the Arts will host a showcase of ceramic artworks chosen by a jury of artists and practitioners in this region’s community of ceramic craft.

The exhibition will open to the public in the AcA Main Gallery from June 8, 2024 through August 10, 2024.

Applications are accepted until 11:59 pm Monday May 6th, 2024.

How it works:

  • All submitting artists must be over 18 years old and reside in the United States or if younger than 18 years old must submit with the assistance and approval of a legal guardian.
  • To be considered for entry, all work must be completed after January 1, 2021.
  • Artists are limited to 5 works for consideration. If accepted, artists are required to hand deliver works to Acadiana Center for the Arts, 101 W. Vermilion St, Lafayette LA 70501 by May 31st, 2024.
  • Download and read submission guidelines.
  • Fill out the “Call to Artists Application” online form (below)
  • If your work is accepted, fill out the forms included in the “Ceramics Now Submission Guidelines” and return Jaik at Acadiana Center for the Arts or email to submissions@acadianacenterforthearts.org.

Important Dates:

  • Online Submission Deadline May 6, 2024
  • Works Selected/ Artists Notified May 10, 2024
  • Works Must be Received at AcA by May 31, 2024
  • Exhibition Opens June 8, 2024
  • Exhibition on View June 8 – August 10, 2024
  • First Day of In-Person Pick Up Period August 16, 2024
  • All Work Picked Up Must be Retrieved by August 30, 2024
