French Language Mural at Scott Middle School

As part of the Louisiana Division of the Arts (LDOA) Percent for the Arts Program, Acadiana Center for the Arts (AcA) is seeking proposals from local artists for the Public Art in Schools Mural Grant Program.

The goal is to bring hands-on enrichment to school arts programs by engaging with students in the French Immersion program and then working with students by installing public art of lasting value at the selected school.

Info

This mural project will incorporate Scott Middle School’s new tri-language school slogan, Scott Middle School… Where Cultures Unite, Minds Soar and Imaginations Ignite, primarily in the French language (…où les cultures s’unissent, Les esprits s’envolent, et les imaginations s’enflamment) but can incorporate both the English and Spanish (…Donde las culturas se unen, las mentes se elevan, y la imaginación se enciende) translations. The shortlisted submissions will be voted upon through engagement with immersion students at Scott Middle.

Scope of Work

The artist selected through the RFP process will be responsible for a single impactful artwork measuring approximately 25ft x 15ft long at Scott Middle School.
