VISITOR EXPECTATIONS

Visitor Code of Conduct

Acadiana Center for the Arts strives to create a positive and inclusive experience for all. 

We ask all AcA guests to behave in a  respectful manner and to be courteous toward other visitors, staff, and volunteers. Guests who are deemed disruptive or threatening to others may be asked to leave the facility.

Expectations

Acadiana Center for the Arts strives to create a positive and inclusive experience for all. We ask all AcA guests to behave in a respectful manner and to be courteous toward other visitors, staff, and volunteers. 

Guests who disregard verbal instructions given by staff or act in a way that is disruptive or threatening may be asked to leave the facility.

The following behaviors are encouraged while visiting the Acadiana Center for the Arts:

  • Avoid any language or behaviors that may negatively impact the experience of fellow guests and/or staff. 
  • Be respectful of AcA spaces and exhibits.
  • Use headphones for any video calls, playing of music, or other electronic audio.
  • Children 14 years of age and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult.

The following behaviors are not allowed within the Acadiana Center for the Arts: 

  • Offensive, abusive, threatening or violent language/behavior.
  • Possession of weapons of any kind.
  • Smoking, vaping, and use of tobacco or cannabis.
  • Eating or drinking in the museum galleries.
  • Using flash photography in museum galleries
  • Bringing pets, with the exception of service animals.
  • Visiting when sick with a contagious illness.

TICKET SALES POLICIES

  • AcA does not offer refunds, exchanges, or credits if you miss a performance or cannot attend a future performance.
  • Ticket prices, show dates, times, performers, and performances are subject to change at any time. AcA may, at its sole discretion, offer refunds, exchanges, or credits in the event of major changes.
  • All ticket sales are final. Special promotions and ticket offers are valid on new ticket purchases only.
  • Performances are rarely cancelled due to weather. The safety of our guests is our top priority, and if you are concerned about attending a performance due to inclement weather, please call the Box Office at 337-233-7060, which can advise on local conditions and parking.
  • Ticket holders may donate purchased tickets back to AcA. The value of the resold tickets supports AcA’s Silent Seats program, which offers complimentary seats to youth and families who would otherwise not be able to access high-quality performances.

WILL CALL PICK-UP PROCEDURES

  • Photo ID matching the account name is required to pick up tickets from Will Call.

TICKET RESELLERS

AcA does not support the reselling of tickets in excess of the face value through any means. Account holders who violate this policy may be subject to revocation of their account holder status and tickets. AcA, at its sole discretion, shall be entitled to implement a ticket purchase limit per person or account holder, per credit card or otherwise. In the event that an account holder purchases more than the specified limit, AcA, in its sole discretion, reserves the right (with or without notice) to revoke tickets and issue refunds for sales in excess of the designated limit.

CHILDREN

  • Children age five and above are welcome to attend performances at the AcA. The AcA does not censor performances nor make any guarantees of show content. We encourage parents to use their discretion when deciding if a show is appropriate for their child.
  • Children age 2 and under do not need a ticket for entry. Children 2 and under who enter free will need to sit in the laps of the accompanying adult. You can purchase a ticket if you need a seat for your 2 or under child.

LOST/FORGOTTEN TICKETS

If you have lost or have forgotten your tickets, reissued tickets will be available to you on the night of the performance at the ticket window. The ticket holder must present a valid ID for identification. Only tickets purchased directly through the AcA may be reissued.

TICKET FEES

  • All tickets, regardless of purchase location, include a facility fee retained by the AcA for general maintenance and upkeep of its venue.
  • Tickets purchased online are subject to standard credit card fees. Fees vary by performance and ticket price.
  • Season Ticket Packages are subject to per package handling fees if the patron requests that tickets be printed and mailed by the AcA.

ACCESSIBILITY

  • The AcA strives to make every accommodation possible available to guests needing accessible seating. Seating is limited and we encourage guests to make arrangements in advance.
  • The AcA provides an ADA accessible entrance, elevators to its mezzanine sections, listening devices, ADA accessible restrooms, and special seating (including wheelchair, motorized cart, difficulty with stairs and sight impairment)

ITEMS NOT PERMITTED IN OUR VENUES

AcA’s highest priority is our guests’ safety. Please allow extra time for arrival as each guest CAN be subject to security screenings and all bags are subject to being checked. The following items will not be permitted in the venue:

 

  • Alcohol from other locations, drugs, illegal substances or any paraphernalia associated with drug use
  • Audio/Video recorders, professional cameras, tripods
  • Glass containers of any kind, cans, bottles, coolers, food, and snacks from other locations
  • Weapons of any type, including chains, knives, spiked jewelry and firearms (excluding law enforcement officers)
  • Pepper spray/mace/other chemicals
  • Duffel bags, backpacks or other oversized bags (larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″)
  • Noisemakers such as air horns
  • Laser pens/pointers of any type
  • Flags/signs/poles
  • Fireworks
  • Any other item deemed unacceptable by the event/building management team
