We live in a world of ghosts. Ghosts are bits of history that repeat themselves, the past made present; sometimes they materialize as we watch, sometimes we just feel their cold presence around us. Some are summoned, some come unbidden. Some are as big as countries and wars, and others are so small they fit inside your heart.

Chris Pavlik grew up in an Army family, moving frequently; he lived in a haunted mansion in Maryland, and spent six years in Europe during the Cold War. He has had solo shows in Kansas City, Seattle, and Lafayette, as well as being in recent group shows at the ACA and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
