Les Hay Babies – CANCELLED
Les Hay Babies are the regeneration of their Acadian culture; they make us travel with their songs strewn with old words and current images. The three young women hailing from New Brunswick will make you feel the familiarity and warmth of their little corner of the country.
After the release of the bilingual Folio, in 2012, Les Hay Babies devoted themselves to successive tours, which in term led them to releasing the albumMy Homesick Heart in 2014 on Simone Records. A sincere indie -folk-country album put together with precious collaborators such as François Lafontaine and Mathieu Parisien (Karkwa), Joe Grass and Mishka Stein (Patrick Watson), José Major (Marie-Pierre Arthur) and Mico Roy (Les Hôtesses of Hilaire).
In 2016, Les Hay Babies released their second album La 4ème dimension (version longue) with not one country song but rather 60s-70s rock and ballads of the 80s, flirting with instrumental, grunge and psychedelic.
After winning the Fédération des jeunes francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick’s contest “Accros de la chanson” in 2009 and 2010, they were crowned winners of Les Francouvertes in 2013 and won a dozen awards at the Festival Vue sur la Relève the same year. They have been collecting awards and nominations since then including three trophies at the ADISQ Gala in 2014 and the Édith-Butler Award at the SPACQ Gala des Mérites (Screen Composers Guild of Canada). Les Hay Babies were also crowned best francophone artist of the year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2015 and My Homesick Heart won the title for Best French Album of the Year at the East Coast Music Awards.
