Randy Dauterive & Carol Miller of the Louisiana Crafts Guild
On view in the Mallia Galleria (second floor) through July 5, 2025.
“Working with metal and living in the country outside of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, the majority of my inspirations come from nature. As a metal artist, I find myself looking at nature and wondering how I can recreate it in my own style. What once was a passing hobby has become a lifestyle.” -Randy Dauterive
“Carol Miller is a graduate of UL Lafayette with a BA in journalism and speech education and worked for 20 years in print advertising and another 20 teaching high school journalism, digital photography and broadcasting in her hometown Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
After her retirement she began exploring different artistic outlets including photography, woodworking, gardening and painting. A friend introduced her to pottery and a great love for ceramic art was born. The tactile nature of the clay along with the endless possibilities drive her creative process. Her distinct perspective is reflected in her work which focuses on the culture and landscape of Acadiana.
Carol works out of her home studio, Bayou Lane Pottery, in Breaux Bridge Louisiana.” -Carol Miller
The Louisiana Crafts Guild is a juried organization of Fine Crafts Artisans located throughout the state of Louisiana and the southern region of the United States. Because of our stringent jury requirements and dedication to excellence in fine craft, only three out of every ten applicants is approved for membership. Members of the Guild are active in their community and give back by providing demonstrations to schools, churches, libraries and other organizations. Their members’ generosity abounds with donations to support community events, non-profit organizations and fundraisers.
