Nealy Atkins studied at the University of Montevallo in Alabama earning a bachelor’s degree in Art and Biology in 2008. The following year she completed a Masters of Education in Art Education (M.Ed.) also from the University of Montevallo.

Nealy is a visual artist primarily working in the mediums of ceramic arts and domestic crafts and is a member of the Louisiana Crafts Guild, NuNu Arts and Culture Collective, and the Louisiana Art Teachers Association. She is a former high school and elementary art teacher in Vermilion Parish and is an advocate of life-long learning and working with community members to ensure a bright future for youth.
